Frankie Boyle: I’ll quit comedy in two years

Comic wants to spend more time with kids

Saturday, 27 December 2008

Frankie Boyle plans to quit comedy in two years.

The comedian, 36, regularly appears on panel show Mock The Week.

But his flourishing career means he's missing out on watching his children grow up.

‘I’m not a performance junkie. I don’t need the fix of adulation,’ he tells The Daily Star Sunday.

‘I’ll give it two more years and then retire.

'I’ve got two young kids now and I’m not seeing them at all.

‘So in a couple of years I’ll quit performing and try to make a living as a writer, working from home.’

My question to Frankie Boyle is why he wants to quit comedy?, stand up and Mock the week as well. I don't understand this, this a joke right?. Quiting comedy doesen't mean you have to spend time with your kids and I respect what you say that's not a problem, I know you have two lovely kids but why you want to quit comedy?. I have been watching Mock the week all the time and your jokes I find is funny and make me laugh allot. Just to let you know that I am a big fan of Frankie Boyle and he is the best and he is the man, you know why, because he knows what the man himself is saying on his jokes. Look at the stand up legends Jack Dee, Lee Evans, Billy Connolly, they are marriend and they have kids of thier own, they have not quit comedy. You know why because they enjoy what they do best and that is stand up. Frankie Boyle should do the same, carry one doing stand up and become a writer as well. That will make you an all rounder Scottish man. Why not do part time comedy. Why not take your family with you on tour so that way you don't miss your kids. One last thing, what about your fans as well. I have got your DVD as well. Please, please, please, don't quit comedy because you are the funnest man in the world. Forgot say to you Frankie Boyle, Happy new year. Any plans for the year 2009?.
