Singer angers campaigners over Dubai gig
Sunday, 14 December 2008
Kylie Minogue has been dropped as from the list of celebrity supporters of animal charity Marine Connection.
The singer, 40, angered bosses when she was involved in the £20 million launch of the Atlantis Palms Hotel in Dubai – a facility that keeps dolphins in captivity so guests can swim with them.
‘Because Miss Minogue supported a facility that has captive dolphins captured from the wild we can no longer be associated with her,’ spokeswoman Margaux Dodds tells Daily Star Sunday.
Kylie was paid £1.5 million for performing at the lavish event.
The hotel claims the Dolphin Bay attraction is a rescue rehabilitation centre for the injured animals.

well, i guess kylie was more interested in promoting her album than actually supporting the keeping of dolphins in captivity... it's not like she went there to swim with them! Sometimes in life you have to get on with it even if there are things you don't agree with, so some people should get a grip...
