Thierry Henry’s ex-wife receives multimillion divorce settlement

Model Claire Merry said to have received 'close to the £10m she wanted'

Thierry Henry and ex-wife Claire Merry have finally reached a divorce settlement – and the former Arsenal footballer is rumoured to be paying her around £8 million.

The couple divorced last year on the grounds of his ‘unreasonable behaviour’.

But they were still wrangling over their finances until late as last week. But to avoid returning to court they have reached an agreement.

‘Claire is delighted,’ a source tells The Sun. ‘Neither her or Thierry wanted to go back to court as they are both now moving on with their lives.

'She is happy with the conclusion. She said it is close to the £10 million she wanted.’

Thierry, 31, and model Claire, 27, met while filming ads for Renault Clio in 2001.

They were married for 4 years and have daughter Tea, 3.
