Police Academy star says he's quite an artist too
Thursday, 4 December 2008
Steve Guttenberg has likened his career to that of some of the finest actors in Hollywood.
The Police Academy star is currently in the panto Cinderella in Bromley, Kent.
‘That is the way a career is, you go up and down,’ Steve explains.
‘If you talked to Robert Redford or Paul Newman, you know, everything is up and down.
'Are you going to walk up to Johnny Deppand say he is any less of an actor because he is doing the fourth Pirates movie?’
Steve, 50, also says he's a pro with a paintbrush.
‘I am an artist,’ he tells The Sun. ‘I paint pictures. And sometimes my pictures sell and sometimes they don’t. But that doesn’t mean I am not an artist.
'You know Picasso was the same artist when he sold his paintings as when he didn’t.
‘Van Gogh never sold a painting his whole life and now his paintings sell for millions of dollars. Does that mean he wasn’t a success?’
