Mathew Horne: I don’t want children

Gavin & Stacey star says he's too selfish to have a family

Mathew Horne has admitted that he's not ready for fatherhood.

The 30-year-old Gavin & Stacey star says he has enough trouble looking after himself.

'I don’t want children,' he tells Now. 'I’ve got too much to do looking after myself. I don’t know how I’d possibly look after another person.

'I’m far too selfish to have a child – I just couldn’t do it.'

Mathew is dating someone although he refuses to talk about her. But hopefully she meets his strict criteria in the looks department.

'I couldn’t bear having an ugly child. I’d have to be absolutely 100 per cent sure that the girl I had a child with was good looking enough,' he jokes.

'I’d have to do a lot of research first to check that she didn’t have ugly genes!'
