Lil' Wayne leads Grammy nominations

Rapper up for 8 awards

Lil Wayne expected to be big winner at 51st Grammy Awards in February

Lil' Wayne has been nominated for 8 gongs at the Grammy Awards.

The rapper, 26, will compete with Coldplay and Ne-Yo for Album Of The Year for his record Tha Carter III.

Coldplay have been nominated for 7 awards and Kanye West, Ne-Yo, and Jay-Z are each up for 6.

Leona Lewis, 23, is nominated for Record Of The Year for Bleeding Love and the Jonas Brothers are up for Best New Artist.

The categories were announced during a special live concert on a US TV show last night, with performances from Celine Dion, Christina Aguilera and John Mayer.

The 51st Annual Grammy's will be held in February.
