Station apologises for Torchwood star's saucy antics
Tuesday, 2 December 2008
John Barrowman exposed himself during a pre-watershed online radio broadcast on Sunday.
The Torchwood star was appearing on Radio 1’s Switch programme, when hosts Annie Mac and Nick Grimshaw joked about him being famous for getting his willy out in interviews.
‘Is the webcam on? Alright. I'll get it out for you then, no problem,’ he told them.
‘I didn't take the whole thing out, but I got my fruit and nuts out.’
John, 41, has now expressed his regret.
‘I apologise for any offence I have caused,’ he says. ‘I was joining in the light-hearted and fun banter of the show and went too far.
'I was wrong to do this and it will never happen again.'
The BBC insists webcam viewers did not see the flash.
‘We do feel that the programme overstepped the mark,’ says a spokesman.
‘We acknowledge this and apologised at the end of the live programme.’

He DID NOT expose himself during an 'online' broadcast. It was a radio show at 8.15pm, no webcam was on him (and the radio 1 webcam only shows a still image of the studio refreshed every ten minutes - very boring). It was a very funny, off-the-cuff moment, which was not offensive.
