Filmmaker wears the necklace for luck

David Furnish loves Sir Elton John

David Furnish carries a piece of Sir Elton John's baby hair with him everywhere he goes. 

The filmmaker has put the lock in a special necklace to give him luck. 

'I have around my neck a little tiny locket and it has a lock of Elton's baby hair and a picture of him as a baby,' he tells the Los Angeles Times. 

'I wear it for important occasions - when I climbed Mount Kilimanjaro and on airplanes.

'It's a talisman that makes me feel protected, like I've got him with me all the time.'

David, 46, and Sir Elton, 61, wed in a civil ceremony in December 2005.
