Singer's mum says she's ready for her comeback

Britney Spears's dad Jamie is now in charge of her estate and finances

Britney Spears’ mum Lynne has opened up about the singer’s recent troubles – saying she’s ready to move on.

She says the Womanizer star started to go off the rails when she married Jason Alexander in 2004 in Las Vegas - only to have the marriage annulled 55 hours later.

‘That was one of the first signs,’ says Lynne. ‘I think there comes a time in a young adult's life when they want to live their own life and Mamma and Daddy, they're not cool any more.

‘I think it was that situation. Much similar to a child that goes to college and they're really into their college life and they don't really come home a lot.’

Lynne says Britney, 26, has now picked herself up and she predicts her daughter will have a successful year.

‘There's a lot of people that care about Britney and love Britney, and Britney's doing great now,’ she tells Lorraine Kelly on LK Today.

She also went on to say the singer is a 'fun' and 'affectionate' mum to Sean Preston, 3, and Jayden James, 2.

‘She's a normal mother, but when you throw her in front of the cameras, I guess everybody's going to act a little different. But in the home where there's nobody around, she's very normal.'
