Rod Stewarts son opens up about his painkiller addiction
Thursday, 27 November 2008
Sean Stewart has revealed that he used to harm himself so that he could be prescribed painkillers.
The former addict, whose dad is singer Rod Stewart, says he went to the extreme lengths to feed his addiction.
‘I beat myself up to go to the hospital so I could get Vicodin,’ he says. ‘I just started punching myself and hitting my face against the wall.'
Sean, 28, who has been clean for 9 months, says the use of drugs in Hollywood is widespread.
‘Once I walked into a club and people threw their cocaine in the air,’ he tells In Touch.
‘Another time, I was at a house party in Beverly Hills and a very famous sports star was standing in the corner smoking crack.
'A lot of people use drugs because they're under pressure. If you come from money, you don't know who to trust or who is using you. It can be hard.’
Sean is currently appearing on US reality TV show Celebrity Rehab.
