Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt have laughed off reports their wedding is fake.

The couple, who got together on US show The Hills, tied the knot in Mexico last week.

And they insist it’s the real deal.

‘We had a beautiful ceremony,’ Spencer, 25, says. 'We've never been happier.

'Like other elopements that happen outside the country, we'll take care of the legal details when we get home.’

They are currently filming their honeymoon, which will be shown on the fifth season of the show.

‘Fans will be able to see the exclusive footage from the ceremony in an upcoming episode,’ a producer tells MTV.

‘And we will continue to follow the newlyweds' relationship as it plays out in real life.’
