Former presenter loses the public vote
Thursday, 27 November 2008
Robert Kilroy-Silk is the first contestant to be kicked of I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here!.
The former presenter, 66, lost the public vote and viewers saw him leave the jungle last night. But he admitted he wasn’t happy to go.
‘I didn’t want to be out – no one does,’ he says. ‘I pleaded for another night but the viewers wouldn’t give it to me.’
Robert was up against George Takei, Brian Paddick, Martina Navratilova, Nicola McLean and David Van Day.
‘It’s win/win for me,’ he revealed. ‘The freedom is not so bad, but seeing my wife is what it’s all about.
'From the moment I was in there, all I could think of was my family.’
He revealed he wanted tennis champion Martina Navratilova to win but admitted Joe Swash would probably be named King of the Jungle.
