Cristiano Ronaldo earns £120,000 a week at Manchester United FC

Cristiano Ronaldo will only be allowed to fork out £5 on a festive gift for a fellow player.

The 23-year-old footie star is taking part in a Secret Santa gift-swap with his Manchester United teammates.

Manager Sir Alex Fergusson insisted on the spending limit to make sure the team doesn’t flash the cash during the credit crunch.

‘Alex didn’t want the lads openly flaunting their wealth this Christmas, with most families struggling,’ a source tells The Sun.

‘So spending as little as a fiver will go down well.’
