Contestants seek shelter on higher ground
Friday, 21 November 2008
The stars of ITV show I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! were forced to evacuate their camp last night over fears for their safety.
Heavy rainfall, hailstones and gales swept into the Australian jungle, flooding their sleeping areas.
The 12 contestants were sought refuge in the Bush Telegraph, which is built on higher ground.
‘The camps had to be merged early because of the flooding and Bushtucker Trials are being juggled around because of poor conditions,’ a source tells the Daily Mail.
‘Now we have had to evacuate the contestants. The weather is playing havoc and if it continues then that does put us in a difficult position.'
Last night viewers watched former talk show host Robert Kilroy-Silk, 66, endure a live Bushtucker Trial, involving jungle creepy crawlies, rats and snakes.
