Singer didn't know what to do with herself

Britney Spears and Justin Timberlake dated for three years

Britney Spears admits she was heartbroken when she and Justin Timberlake broke up.

Her romance with the former NSync singer ended in 2002.

‘With Justin, he was part of the magnitude of what I had become,’ she says in her new documentary Britney: For the Record.

‘So when he was gone I was like, “What am I supposed to do with myself?” I was devastated.

‘He started to do an album for himself and he started to do things for himself, and I just never saw him anymore.

When it ended I felt so alone. I didn't really wanna think about the reality of it. I never faced it. I just ran.’

Britney's two year marriage to Kevin ended in 2006. They have sons Jayden James, 2, and Sean Preston, 3, together.

Britney: For the Record airs on Sky 1 on 2 December.
