Bosses finally reveal plans for seasonal episodes
Thursday, 20 November 2008
Top Of The Pops is back for Christmas and New Year editions on BBC1 after all.
The show, which was cancelled in 2006, has been the subject of intense campaigning for its reinstatement – with Simon Cowell even offering to buy the format.
Now Beeb bosses have announced there will be 2 special episodes fronted by Fearne Cotton and Reggie Yates.
‘I am beyond excited at the thought of a return to the mighty TOTP studios for these one-off shows,’ Fearne, 27, said after the announcement.
‘Reggie and I feel truly honoured to be able to introduce this year's No1. Both shows are going to be huge.’
Top Of The Pops was first aired in 1964.
