Emma Crosby will replace Fiona Phillips on the GMTV sofa.

Kate Silverton, 38, and Ulrika Jonsson, 41, had been tipped for the job.

Emma, who is currently a Sky News business reporter, will receive a reported six-figure sum.

'I am very excited to be joining Britain's leading breakfast programme,’ she says in a statement.

Emma, 31, will honour her contract with Sky and start at GMTV in 2009.

Fiona, 47, will leave the programme at Christmas after 15 years.
