Britney Spears and Kevin Federline got married in September 2004

Britney Spears regrets tying the knot with Kevin Federline.

The singer, 26, got engaged to the rapper, 30, just three months after they met in 2004.

‘I think I married for all the wrong reasons,’ she says in her new documentary Britney: For The Record.

‘Instead of following my heart and, like, doing something that made me really happy, I just did it because...for just, like, the idea of everything.’

Despite having sons Jayden James, now 2, and Sean Preston, 3, with Kevin, she filed for divorce on 30 November 2006.

She was also briefly married to pal Jason Alexander. But their union was annulled after 55 hours.
