Pair planning to cover his track Especially For You

Jason Donovan is planning to record a track with pal Martine McCutcheon.

The pair are hoping to cover Especially For You, the Aussie singer's famous duet with old flame Kylie Minogue.

'I wanted to do a spin on that song plus a new duet, but truthfully I thought it would be way too cheesy with Kylie again,' Jason says.

'I like the idea of singing with my Echo Beach co-star Martine.'

Jason, 40, and Martine, 32, originally hoped to record the song for his new album Let It Be Me.

'We tried but we could never get to the studio at the same time. However, she assures me we will get together for the next album,' he says.

'She's a great chick and a wonderful singer too.'
