The X Factor judge says Leona Lewis could be bigger

Simon Cowell invited Mariah Carey to sing live on The X Factor

Simon Cowell thinks Mariah Carey is no longer the star she once was.

The X Factor judge believes she's made a mistake in trying a different style of music.

‘To me, the greatest singer is Mariah Carey,’ he tells Live magazine. ‘But she’s lost it.

‘She needs to go back to singing ballads.’

Simon, 49, believes Leona Lewis could be a bigger star than Mariah, 38.

‘It’s the reason Leona could top her,’ he says.

‘You have to stick with doing what you do best. Be honest. Know yourself.’
