Fans furious that The X Factor winners track Run has not been released
Wednesday, 19 November 2008
Leona Lewis’s fans are in uproar after plans to release her version of Snow Patrol hit Run were apparently shelved at the last minute.
The song was expected to be available to download this week after the singer performed it on Saturday's The X Factor. It was even predicted to top the charts.
But record bosses are said to have made a U-turn.
‘It’s an absolute c***-up,’ says a source. ‘It was due out as a download and would have walked to No1.’
But a spokesman for Leona, 23, has played down the controversy.
‘Run has never been scheduled for release as a single,’ he tells The Sun. ‘It is available on the new edition of [her album] Spirit, in stores now and digitally from 1 December.’
