Actor couldn't light up behind bars
Wednesday, 19 November 2008
Kiefer Sutherland says his time in jail made him realise he could quit smoking.
The 24 star served 48 days behind bars for drink-driving last year.
And Kiefer, 41, says he didn't light up once during his stay.
'There's no smoking,’ he tells Men’s Vogue. 'The lights never go out, 24/7. You can't cover anything.
'You can't even put your head under a blanket. All the cells have cameras in them.
'My drinking was not a daily thing, so it wasn't an issue. And, oddly enough, neither was the smoking.
'I was very glad to know that I could quit.'
