Strictly Come Dancing presenter loves working with veteran entertainer
Sunday, 30 November 2008
Tess Daly has spoken out in support of Strictly Come Dancing co-presenter Bruce Forsyth.
The 80-year-old star has recently faced claims that he's too old for live television, with critics saying the current series of the hit BBC1 show should be his last. But Tess says that's rubbish.
‘Brucie is brilliant,’ she tells Weekend. ‘I actually thinks it’s very disrespectful to talk a man out of a job that he's good at, that he loves.
‘He is a legend in his own right, and there should be respect for that.’
Tess, 37, says that Bruce has become a father figure to her since her dad Viv died 5 years ago.
‘He has seen me through every stage in my life recently,’ she says. ‘I love him to bits.
‘Bruce has always been really supportive and he’s a truly lovely, generous bloke.’

Brucie is a LEGEND!!! He's a real star, especially compared to most of the rubbish on TV at the moment!
Bruce Forsyth is too old and was past it twenty years ago. He is an embarassment with his huge ego, those excrutiatingly contrived 'jokes' and witters on endlessly spoiling SCD. He should be retired at once. BTW, legends are old myths whose age old origins are lost in the mists of time, about right then!
Bruce Forsyth shall be knighted soon ... recognising his lifetime of entertaining the British public. "Knight to see you ... to see you Knight!"
I entirely agree with Robing. He is embarassingly awful and I cringe at his inane jokes. He ruins a brilliant show.
