Bahrain prince says the star owes him money
Monday, 17 November 2008
Michael Jackson is being sued for £4.7million for breach of contract by the son of the King of Bahrain.
Sheikh Abdulla Bin Hamad Bin Isa al Khalifa claims the singer backed out of a record deal, London’s High Court heard.
He alleges Michael signed an exclusive contract to release an autobiography, two albums and a musical for him when they became pals in 2005.
He says the profit made was to be used to repay money he reportedly loaned the Thriller star.
Michael, 50, has contested the claim, saying there was no valid agreement.
An application has been made for the star to give evidence from the US via a video link during the 12-day hearing.
