Actress to help stop violence against women

Charlize Theron has been made a United Nations Messenger Of Peace.
The actress, who follows in the footsteps on George Clooney, 47, and Michael Douglas, 64, will focus on ending violence against women.
'This is something that has been very dear to me, and disturbing to me for a long time,' she says.
Charlize, 33, is already involved with charities in her native South Africa, where she has founded HIV initiative the Charlize Theron Africa Outreach Project.
