Mariah Carey is said to have upset Simon Cowell after keeping contestants waiting on The X Factor.

The singer, 38, who gave advice to the hopefuls and performed on the live show, left the hopefuls waiting for over 3 hours for her mentoring session at the Dorchester Hotel on Friday.

‘Simon was furious about the delays and really annoyed with Mariah. He just wanted them to meet the star and get back to the studios,’ a source tells the Sunday Mirror.

‘He got so frustrated at one stage he ordered an assistant to go to the Dorchester and order the contestants into their limos.’

Mariah is also said to have annoyed staff at the live show after demanding her dressing room be changed because it wasn't good enough.

‘I’d heard that Mariah was bad, but thought it was just rumours. Boy, was I wrong,’ an insider tells The Sun.
