Actress says she didn't feel confident

Nicole Kidman divorced Tom Cruise in 2002

Nicole Kidman has admitted that she felt worthless during her 11-year marriage to Tom Cruise.

The actress started dating the Hollywood star when she was just 22 - but she struggled to cope with his fame.

'I felt I became a star only by association,’ she tells Glamour magazine.

‘I didn't think [my early movies] were very good, which is why I would always cower in the background.

‘I thought, “I don't deserve to be here”. We would go to the Oscars and I would think, I'm here to support him. I felt it was my job to put on a beautiful dress and to be seen and not heard.'

Nicole, 41, and Tom, 46, adopted kids Isabella, 15, and Connor, 13, together. They divorced in 2002.

She is now mum to daughter Sunday Rose with husband Keith Urban, 40.
