Former Beatle Sir Paul McCartney was married to Heather Mills

Sir Paul McCartney is to receive a special prize at the MTV Awards tomorrow night.

The former Beatles star is one of the UK's most respected artists with a career spanning four decades.

And MTV organisers want to pay tribute to the singer by presenting him with an Ultimate Legend Award.

‘He remains such an inspiration to today’s artists,’ a spokesman tells Now Online. ‘We’re very excited, we wouldn’t be here without him.’

Meanwhile, Kerry Katona, 28, is said to be making an appearance at the exclusive music bash, much to the delight of acid-tongued blogger Perez Hilton.

‘I’m looking forward to hearing if she can say one sentence without vomiting on herself,’ he says.

The MTV Awards kick off in Liverpool tomorrow night.
