Comedian finds it hard to be jolly
Saturday, 22 November 2008
Jack Dee is looking forward to getting older.
The actor reckons he's always been more mature than his years.
'The older I get, the more it suits me,' he says. 'From the age of 10 I've wanted to be 50. I've always had an old, jaded outlook on life.
'I find it hard to get excited about things, so at least now I'm finally growing into my persona.'
Jack, 47, thinks being a comic has something to do with it.
'I don't know why comedians are such a miserable bunch,' he says. 'Maybe it's what makes us comedians.
'I've had times were I've felt very, very low and it's not nice. You learn coping strategies, and I find that keeping busy can be very helpful.'
