Has Becks' move to Milan wrecked Posh's plans to conquer the US?
Thursday, 6 November 2008
At a time when Victoria Beckham’s dream of conquering the US finally appears to be taking off, the January departure of her husband to Italy for three months to play for AC Milan threatens everything.
‘Victoria’s being taken seriously in the fashion world now and was really starting to establish herself in the US thanks to David’s high profile,' says Now's source. 'But she’s fearful people won’t be as interested in her on her own.
'Posh’s career is based around them as a couple, but for David, his football has to come first. At 33, he doesn’t have that many years left playing at the top level.’
David’s just one cap away from equalising football legend Bobby Moore’s record of 108 games for England, but national team boss Fabio Capello insists he needs to be playing regularly to qualify for the squad.
‘It was a big wake-up call for David,' says our insider. 'It was hoped his £128 million contract with LA Galaxy would help raise the profile of soccer in the US. But now he’s anxious to get back to top-flight football.
‘He’s asked Posh to support him as she knows how important his international career is to him. She’s had no choice but to go along with it and let David call the shots for now, even though what’s good for David at this time is really not good for her.’
The thought of Becks spending months alone again in Europe worries Victoria, 34, after he got rather too close to his PA Rebecca Loos in 2003 while playing for Real Madrid. She’s already been angered by his recent nights out at the Villa nightclub in LA and the move has only fed these insecurities.
In a bid to make sure they don’t repeat past mistakes, the couple have set out a list of ground rules which will come into play when David goes.

I don't see why David Beckham's desire to play football rather then" soccer is going to ruin the plans of Victoria to make it big in the world of fashion.Surely, this is the type of career that can be pursued from any part of the world.Besides,it would make a refreshing change for Victoria to put Davids wants and needs first.Surely,it is only understandable that he wants to achieve as much as possible in his football carrer while he is still young enough and fit enough to do so.As for his "so called" affair with Rebecca Loose, you seem to be treating that as a proven fact.Has Ms Loose taken a lie detector test? If not,why are you so eager to take her word for it.She is obviously an attention seeking bunnyboiler who wanted her 15 minutes of fame, and did not care who she had to hurt to get it!
Victoria Beckham does not have to be in the USA to be taken seriously in the fashion world, the fashion world does not revolve around New York. It's about time David got the chance to come first for a change.Someone should remind"she who must be obeyed" that without the Beckham name she would be nothing more then a washed up pop star.
