Jennifer Hudson has pledged to help the families of murder victims by setting up her own charity.

The singer was left devastated last week when her mum Darnell, 57, and brother Jason, 29, were killed in their home in Chicago.

On Monday her missing 7-year-old nephew Julian King was found dead in an abandoned car. He had been shot multiple times.

Jennifer, 27, hopes the Hudson-King Foundation For Families Of Slain Victims will help those left suffering.

‘The specific purpose of the Foundation is to care for the needs of families who have lost relatives to a violent crime,’ the family said in a statement, reports People.

‘This encompasses their basic needs of food, clothing and shelter as well as grief counselling.’

Jennifer attended a vigil in Chicago on Wednesday night to pray for her dead relatives.

William Balfour – the estranged husband of Jennifer’s sister Julia – is still being held in police custody for questioning in connection with the murders.
