Actress says she rebelled in her youth
Saturday, 1 November 2008
Gillian Anderson has spoken of her wild teenage years.
The actress admits she rebelled when her family moved from London to Grand Rapids, Michigan, a quiet American town.
‘Life was excruciatingly painful for years,’ she says.
‘I’d deal with it by being quite wild – promiscuous, drinking a lot.’
As a young teen, Gillian had a pierced nose, scarlet hair and a punk musician boyfriend.
The X Files star, 40, is worried her 14-year-old daughter Piper might follow in her footsteps.
‘There is part of me which is afraid,’ she tells The People.
'We talk a lot. That will, hopefully, circumvent any dire situations.'
Gillian also has two sons, Oscar, nearly 2, and 2-week-old Felix with Partner Mark Griffiths.
Piper’s dad is Gillian's ex-husband Clyde Klotz.
