Patrick Swayze: Chemotherapy is hell on wheels

Actor opens up about cancer battle

Patrick Swayze admits his pancreatic cancer treatment is hellish.

The actor was diagnosed with the disease in March and at the time it was reported he had weeks to live.

But after a gruelling bout of treatment, he's making progress.

‘It’s a battle zone I go through,’ he says.

‘Chemo, no matter how you cut it, is hell on wheels.'

Patrick, who is married to Lisa Niemi, is thrilled he's managed to return to work on the set of A&E series The Beast.

'How do you nurture a positive attitude when all the statistics say you’re a dead man? You go to work!' he tells the New York Times.

‘I do find myself, at the end of the day, riding home sort of catching myself with a smile on my face. I’m proud of what I’m doing.'
