Prince Harry wants to be helicopter pilot

Royal keen to follow in William's footsteps

Prince Harry would undergo a 16 month training course

Prince Harry aims to become a military pilot just like his older brother William.

The Royal has passed an initial aptitude test and will find out next month if he can start the full Army Air Corps programme.

He served on the front line in Afghanistan earlier this year but was removed when a US website leaked his whereabouts.

If successful, Harry, 24, will spend 16 months training before his first operational posting.

Prince William, 26, was awarded his RAF pilot's wings in January.

In April, he was criticised for landing a Chinook helicopter in a field belonging to the family of his girlfriend Kate Middleton.
