David Bowie and Elton John are said to be distraught after losing £1 million worth of valuables in a warehouse fire.

The rock stars reportedly stored tour pictures, promotional material and rare keepsakes at the Iron Mountain depot in Bow, East London.

David, 61, is said to be particularly upset by the loss of legal documents signed at the start of his career.

Items belonging to The Rolling Stones, the Sex Pistols and Duran Duran were also destroyed in the blaze, which took place 2 years ago.

‘Everyone is very upset,’ an insider tells the Sunday People.

‘The material is irreplaceable. Some of it is years old and worth thousands of pounds.'

The firm would not comment on the fire but says: ‘The security of our customers’ valuables in paramount.’
