Former cabbie upset about way wife Kerry Katona quizzed in interview
Thursday, 23 October 2008
Mark Croft is alleged to have confronted Phillip Schofield yesterday following wife Kerry Katona’s bizarre TV meltdown.
The reality star, 28, slurred her words and acted erratically during an interview on This Morning to promote her latest MTV show.
Concerned Phil, 46, enquired if she was feeling okay and co-host Fern Britton, 51, asked if she could possibly have a drinking problem, which Kerry categorically denied.
Mark, 38 - who was in the studio with his wife - is said to have become angry about the questioning.
‘Both Philip and Fern were in a bit of shock about what happened,’ a source tells the Daily Star. ‘People found Mark rather intimidating.'
Now Kerry regrets agreeing to go on the ITV show.
‘I'll never go on that programme again, I'm extremely annoyed at how they made me look,’ she says. ‘I’ve an illness – it’s all down to tablets I’m on for my bipolar disorder.’
Meanwhile, frozen food giant Iceland, with whom Kerry has a lucrative contract, insist they’ll stand by her.
‘If Kerry’s medication isn’t taken at the correct time it will result in her appearing disorientated,’ a spokesperson tells The Sun.

The poor girl. Didn't you see on the clip they showed of her MTV series, she was slurring her words when the doc was 'measuring' her up. Its very common to have such side effects as this with the type of medication she is on. I thought the way Fern and Phil continually pressed her about alcohol was very unkind. However, I agree she should not have done the interview with those side effects and would have thought her 'advisers' would've warned her against doing so. I feel very sorry for her.
Look we've all been there, trying to act sober an making it 10 times worse. Kerry should have cancelled, or her OVER PROTECTIVE hubby should have, to save her humiliating herself. Well done Phil an Fern for making the best of an awful situation, far from slating them Mark should be thanking them for clever interviewing techniques!!!
I do believe that Kerry would have been on medication, but I also believe that this was coupled with something else. It wasn't just her speech that wasn't right, it was her whole demeanor. Also, another thing that doesn't seem to have been mentioned much is her pale and puffy face. Yes, her body may have been sorted but that girl did not look well full-stop. I think Phil and Fern handled the interview very well. They were put in a very difficult position where they assumed they were going to be discussing something completely different, but they had to mention it because it was so obvious that they would have been criticised for NOT mentioning it! And like Fern said this morning, the only reason that alcohol was mentioned was because of the article that had previously been published about her drinking a lot during her photo shoot in Marbella. There were already suggestions that Kerry was back on the booze again even before the interview began. And come on, even if Phil and Fern hadn't mentioned alcohol at all, from the state that she was in, the media would still have suggested she was drunk anyway. Whatever it was, she had the appearance of being rather intoxicated. The girl has issues, and she can protest and 'swear to God' all she wants, but there's something quite wrong there.
