Greys Anatomy star and husband Josh Kelley plan to help disadvantaged child
Wednesday, 22 October 2008
Katherine Heigl and husband Josh Kelley are in talks to take in an orphan from Korea.
The couple, who married last December, are thought to have chosen the country because her sister Meg was adopted from there over 30 years ago.
‘They've filled out the paperwork and have been approved and now it's just a matter of waiting,’ a source tells US magazine In Touch Weekly. ‘They've been planning this for a long time.’
Usually couples hoping to adopt from Korea must be married for 3 years – but Katherine, 29, and Josh, 28, are said to be happy to wait.
‘It's always been her dream to adopt,’ adds the source. ‘They haven't ruled out a biological child down the line either.’

My husband and I are waiting over 3 years and for a special needs child. Why is it that stars with fame and fortune are climbing over the ladder and getting a child within 6 months. It is so unfair! They should wait like all the rest of us. Adoption is a wonderful thing to do for a child but wait like the rest of us. Celebritys are not being put on a waiting list if they were they would be waiting for years like the rest of us.
