Professional dancer says he can't even afford to buy a house or car
Tuesday, 21 October 2008
Brendan Cole has slammed Strictly Come Dancing for paying the professional dancers so much less than the judges.
The dancer, 32, says he only gets paid £30,000 for each series of the BBC1 show.
‘My money from Strictly just about pays the bills,’ he says. ‘I don’t have a car. I would like to get one, but until then I’m on the Tube.’
‘I don’t even own my house. I can’t afford it. I rent where I live.’
The judges get paid £90,000 per series, while host Bruce Forsyth gets £450,000 for the three-month-stint.
Brendan, who is partnering Lisa Snowdon this year, has also appeared on Celebrity Love Island and Just The Two Of Us.

I agree with Brendan. In view of the hours they put in and the incredible skills the professionals have, they should be paid as much as the judges. They have an inflated payment. Judges could be replaced. Dancers coouldn't so easily.
