Esther Rantzen to appear in I'm A Celebrity

Presenter approached to go into the jungle

Esther Rantzen is most famous for her TV show That's Life! and is the founder of Childline

Esther Rantzen has been approached to appear in the new series of I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!.

The presenter, 68, is thought to be perfect to fit the 'strong older woman' role in the jungle.

‘We always love to have a glamorous older lady,’ a source tell The Sun.

‘We’ve had Jan Leeming, Janice Dickinson, Jennie Bond and Christine Hamilton, all of whom turned out to be the stars of the show, not least because they never showed fear.

‘They were plucky and spirited and didn’t mind throwing themselves out of planes and getting to grips with creepy crawlies.’

Carol Thatcher, 55, won the 5th series of the show in 2005.

Esther appeared on Strictly Come Dancing in 2004. I'm A Celebrity starts on ITV1 next month.
