David Duchovny has rubbished a newspaper report that he cheated on estranged wife Tea Leoni with his tennis coach.
A Sunday tabloid claimed that The X-Files star was involved with Edit Pakay for at least 6 months.
But his legal team have now set the record straight.
‘The stories about an alleged affair between David Duchovny and his tennis instructor, Edit Pakay, are completely false,’ lawyer Larry Stein tells People.
‘Ms Pakay denied the rumours to me in person last Friday, saying they are just friends, and in addition, said in writing that such stories are “lies and deceit”.’
David, 48, who checked into rehab for sex addiction in August, announced his separation from wife Tea, 42, last week.
The pair, who have been married since 1997, are parents to daughter Madelaine West, 9, and son Kyd, 6.
