Eminem has opened up about his battle with depression for the first time.
In his book The Way I Am the rapper – real name Marshall Mathers – describes how he felt after the 2006 murder of D12 member Proof.
‘I have never felt so much pain in my life,’ he says. ‘It was tough for me to even get out of bed and I had days when I couldn’t walk, let alone write a rhyme.’
The performer, 36, also opens up about his relationship with Kim Mathers, who he has married and divorced twice.
‘Kim and I have had our differences, but things are good between us now,’ he says.
Eminem and Kim have a daughter Hailie, 12.
