Cheryl Cole: I don't fancy Simon Cowell - he's too old!

But Girls Aloud singer admits he's very charismatic

Cheryl Cole says that Simon Cowell is just a big softie underneath

Cheryl Cole has rubbished rumours that there's a flirtation between her and fellow X Factor judge Simon Cowell.

The Girls Aloud singer says she thinks he's a great guy – but the 49-year-old is more like a father figure to her.

‘I’ve read a few hilarious things recently, that we should get together,’ she says.

‘And I wouldn’t like to insult him but… he is a bit too old. But he's a really good person, naturally charismatic.’

But Cheryl, 25, who's married to Chelsea footballer Ashley, 27, says she enjoys the banter she shares with Simon.

‘He calls me The Kid,’ she tells the Observer Magazine. ‘He took me under his wing more than anything.’
