Leona Lewis has been criticised for shunning the MOBO Awards.
The singer, 23, won Best Album for Spirit and Best Video for Bleeding Love at the exclusive event at London's Wembley Arena last night.
But she failed to show up – leaving a video message thanking her fans.
The crowds, who were expecting to see her, reacted angrily, booing her on screen.
‘Stop giving Leona Lewis a hard time you lot,’ host Mel B told the audience. ‘It's not her fault she can't be here.’
Other winners include Estelle, 28 – who scooped 2 awards for Best UK Female and Best Song for American Boy.
Dizzee Rascal, 22, won Best UK Male and Chris Brown, 19, scooped Best International Act and Best R&B/Soul.

Well I think that's pathatic that her fans booed..i'm a leona lewis fan but would never have done that. She's got two massive performances to do in the states ..so what she's gotta fly across the world collect her award and then fly back to perform live. If she did that her singing would not be up to scratch as she'll be jet lagged etc.. and then would be crisised for her bad performance. The girl can't win! Get over yourself...she be back in the uk soon enough geez!!
