The 19-year-old winner of last year's X Factor says he's a soppy romantic who believes in love at first sight

How is your bedroom decorated?
It’s quite light, with white walls, but the main focus is my bed which is covered in those cushions you put on for decoration but never really use them. I also have lots of signed canvases on the wall of Michael Buble, Amy Winehouse, Elvis and a Rat Pack one.

Which 4 celebs would you like to invite to a sleepover?
Hayden Panettiere, Megan Fox, Gemma Atkinson and Alan Carr, because he makes me laugh.

Who was your first crush?
My modern studies teacher at school!

What would be on the menu for a romantic dinner for 2?
Hummus and cucumber sticks.

Who is your ideal woman?
Jessica Alba. She’s amazing, a fine specimen of a woman.

When was the last time you said ‘I love you’?
At the weekend to my mum. She came down to watch me at a gig. Or it might have been this morning to my Addison Lee mini cab driver Chiran!

What’s the most romantic thing you’ve ever done?
Stargazing on a roof terrace.

What’s the best chat-up line you’ve ever used?
I normally just go with Borat and say: ‘I like you! Very nice!’ Or I use the eyelash chat. You say to a girl: 'Are you wearing fake eyelashes?’ and she says no and you say: ‘I don’t believe you, close your eyes. Let me see.’ Then you just kiss them. It’s cheeky chappy and they like that sort of thing.

Would you ever date a fan?
I don’t think so. There’s a line between not being professional and stuff, so...

Do you believe in love at first sight?
Yes. Although it's never happened to me yet.

What books would we find on your bedside table?
I don’t really read books. Does Nuts magazine count?

Describe your ideal night in…
Sitting in with a Chinese takeaway watching a movie.

Who would you like to have a passionate fling with – and who's marriage material?
Cheryl Cole and Cheryl Cole. She's lovely!

What keeps you awake at night?
Worrying about upcoming performances. You always worry, it means you care.

Which is more enjoyable: food or sex?
Sex, definitely. Or bread. Both! Women on bread.

Are you a soppy romantic at heart?
Aye, yes!

How would you describe yourself in a lonely-hearts ad?
4ft 5in, receding hairline, fuller-figured chain-smoker.

Who would be your nightmare dinner date?
An agoraphobic person at a seafood restaurant. That would be a nightmare!

What’s your guilty pleasure?
Rolo desserts – I love them.

If you could have a huge fantasy wedding, what theme would you choose for it?
Fancy dress – I’d go as the bride.

Where would you spend a lost weekend?
Space if I could. Or at a space centre. I'd like to experience weightlessness, float a bit and that.

What’s the most sensual food you could feed a partner?
Strawberries and champagne.

Would you ever pose naked? What’s your price?
Full frontal nudity? No! I’d do it if I could cover my bits with my hands?

If you could be a fly on the wall in another celebrity’s bedroom, whose would it be?
The Queen’s. I'd like to see what she gets up to.

Love.

Is there anything you wouldn’t do for love?
I wouldn’t kill a dog. Or a sheep.
