Keisha Buchanan reckons her band Sugababes will outlast rival girl group Girls Aloud.
The singer says she and bandmates Heidi Range, 25, and Amelle Berrabah, 24, have a long career ahead of them because they pen their own material.
‘Let's just set the record straight,’ Keisha, 24, says. ‘We sell a lot more records than Girls Aloud. I get asked a lot: “Aren't they a bigger band than you?” Well, no. They're not.
‘All of their records have gone top 10, which is something we don't have, but we have longevity, we write our own stuff and we've sold more records.’
Amelle agrees, claiming that Nadine Coyle, Nicola Roberts, both 23, Kimberley Walsh, Sarah Harding, both 26, and Cheryl Cole, 25, are more interested in their image than their records.
‘We want to be known for our music,’ she tells the BBC. ‘That's better than being in the latest magazine.’
Last year, Sugababes and Girls Aloud covered Aerosmith's Walk This Way together for Comic Relief.
