Prince William's girlfriend angers road groups
Tuesday, 14 October 2008
Kate Middleton has been snapped chatting on the phone while behind the wheel.
Prince William’s girlfriend was driving along a country lane near her Berkshire home in her Audi A3 when she was caught by photographers.
‘She seemed to be going quite quickly,’ says an onlooker. ‘And you could quite clearly see she was on the phone.
‘It's not exactly a busy road but it’s narrow in places and you need to concentrate because you never know what’s around the next corner.’
Road group Royal Society For The Prevention Of Accidents has slammed Kate, 26, for her behaviour.
‘Using a mobile phone while driving is extremely dangerous and has cost numerous lives,’ spokesman Roger Vincent tells The Sun. ‘People get sucked more and more into conversations and less on what is going on around them on the road.
‘We would urge Kate Middleton, and others, to realise the misery that is caused. It’s extremely sad, no matter who it is, that people are not getting the message.’
If she had been caught by the police Kate would have faced a £60 fine and 3 penalty points on her licence.
