In the first week of live performances, 4 of the girls go home and Leon Jackson returns
Sunday, 12 October 2008
In last night's X Factor, Bad Lashes and Girlband were voted the bottom two acts by viewers and had to perform again.
In a new twist to the show - to add a bit of variety - both groups sang a different song for their 2nd crucial perfomance of the night. Bad Lashes, who first performed It Must Have Been Love, chose Wonderwall by Oasis.
After the sing-off, the judges' vote was split so host Dermot O'Leary reverted to the public vote to decide the losers.
It was revealed Bash Lashes got fewest calls and the girls from Durham - Sam Bennett, 21, Stacey Lincoln, 20, Sophie Wilson, 23, and Emily McNamee, 19 - were devastated.
Louis Walsh now only has two acts left in the show.
Last year's winner Leon Jackson made a guest appearance to promote his new single Don't Call This Love and got a standing ovation from the audience and Cheryl Cole, Dannii Minogue, Simon Cowell and Louis Walsh.
The 19-year-old has shot up in height since he was discovered at the 2007 auditions and looked pretty fit, even though his mouth dried up with nerves.
