Wendy Richard comforts Jade Goody over cancer battle

Pair strike up unlikely friendship during hospital visit

Wendy Richard played Pauline Fowler for 22 years

Wendy Richard and Jade Goody have bonded over their cancer ordeal.

The pair bumped into one another at London’s Royal Marsden Hospital on Tuesday.

Big Brother star Jade, 27, who has had a cervical tumour removed, is just starting treatment with chemotherapy.

'They got on really well and spent hours chatting,' says a source. 'They are helping each other. It was Jade’s first chemo session and it was absolute agony. But she thought Wendy was lovely — and talking to someone going through the same ordeal seemed to help them.'

This week, former EastEnders star Wendy, 65, revealed she has terminal cancer.

She's marrying long-term partner John Burns, 45, today.
