SHOCK! Gerard Butler accused of assault

Snapper claims the actor punched him

Gerard Butler was linked to Jennifer Aniston following her split from musician John Mayer

Gerard Bulter has been accused of hitting a photographer.

The actor was leaving the Crown Bar in West Hollywood when the alleged incident occured.

Snapper Morgan Kreusch claims he was trailing Gerard in his car when the star confronted him.

He says the 300 actor repeatedly punched him in the face in the early hours of Monday morning. 

Los Angeles Police Department officials have confirmed they are investigating the case and will interview the star.

Gerard, 38, was in LA to promote his new film Rock N Rolla, directed by Madonna's husband Guy Ritchie.

His spokesperson couldn’t be reached for comment.
