TV chef bans physical contact with admirers
Thursday, 9 October 2008
Jamie Oliver is worried he’ll catch an STD from an over-excited fan.
The TV chef gets smothered in kisses at photocalls and book launches – and he’s had enough.
‘These girls asking for a peck, how many have got the clap, herpes…been around a bit?’ he says.
‘I’m very loyal to my wife and if I keep kissing them it’s only a numbers game before I get herpes – and I’ll be growing flapjack on my lip.’
So he’s enlisted the help of a bodyguard called Acer.
‘I said to Acer, “Can you just say no kisses?”’ he told Absolute radio.
‘Don’t come to the book signing if you’ve ever had clap, crabs or herpes!’
Jamie, 33, is expecting his third baby with wife Jools, 34.
He is already dad to Poppy Honey, 6, and Daisy Boo, 5.
